Cal Expo once again hosts the spectacular lantern festival as it unveils new theme and celebrates its 5th anniversary.

Sacramento, Calif. (July 8, 2015 –Thanks to the great success of last year’s event, Global Winter Wonderland is coming back to Sacramento with an exciting new theme – Travel the 4 Seasons in One Day! The multi-cultural theme park and magical world of light spanning 17 acres at Cal Expo will also celebrate its 5th anniversary with the unveiling of sensational new attractions, including a holiday ice skating rink. Global Winter Wonderland opens for the season on November 14, 2015 and will run through January 3, 2016.

“We were thrilled with the response from the Sacramento community and the warm welcome we received,” said Lulu Huang, event founder. “We usually travel to a new city every year, but our experience was so wonderful that we decided to come back with a brand new theme. We can’t wait to celebrate our 5th anniversary with Sacramento!”

The popularity of Global Winter Wonderland in Sacramento has inspired the construction of new lanterns designed to Travel the 4 Seasons in One Day. Returning guests will enjoy a totally unique experience as they tour the stunning illuminated displays – some towering up to 7 stories – featuring beautiful scenes from the winter, spring, summer and fall seasons.

“This is a spectacular event and we can’t wait to see the new theme light up the Sacramento sky,” said Rick Pickering, Chief Executive Officer at Cal Expo and the California State Fair. “Global Winter Wonderland offers visitors a unique holiday experience that is sure to make lasting family memories much like the California State Fair.”

Event organizers are also searching the globe to bring the very best and most unique entertainers to perform in the Circus of Light, Global Winter Wonderland’s action-packed variety show on the main stage. The Circus of Light is one of the most popular attractions at Global Winter Wonderland, which also features carnival rides, an international food court and holiday shopping.

Nearly 100 people from the local community will be hired to staff the festival and theme park at Cal Expo from November to January. Applications will be accepted in October at under the About Global Winter Wonderland section.

This summer, The California State Fair at Cal Expo will feature two spectacular Dragon lantern displays from Global Winter Wonderland. Each display is over 100 feet long and 20 feet tall! The State Fair runs July 10 – 26, 2015.
